LIPOSUCTION: Small incisions, no more than a few millimeters and made in the least visible regions, allow surgeons to access accumulated fat with cannulas of two, three and four millimeters in diameter. With this tool, connected to an electric aspirator or to an empty syringe is equivalent to lipoaspiration. It is a delicate art, whose mission is to empty, but also to regularize and harmonize the volume and shape of the region. We use the Laser Liposcuplture when dealing with conventional liposuction, utilizing the laser energy, by way of internal probes, with a lipolytic effect, which also favors cutaneous retraction more than other conventional techniques. MINI LIPOSUCTION: In cases of specific areas to treat, and non-severe, the “mini liposuction” is the least aggressive option. Under local anesthesia and as an outpatient, the lipoaspiration is performed together with laser therapy. It’s a practically painless technique, with post-operative care that allows for quick laboral reincorporation, and with much less bruising.

Liposuction in multiple zones or large areas, as well as fat transfers to the gluteus or breasts require a hospital stay of 12-24 h. Mini liposuctions in specific areas are performed as outpatient procedures.
LIPOSUCTION AND MINI LIPOSUCTION RECOVERY
There is usually slight discomfort, well-controlled with conventional analgesic medication. The patient can shower freely after 24 hours have passed; and resume normal activity after 24-48 hours. Going back to work is usually authorized the day after surgery regarding mini liposuction, and 2-3 days for all other types of liposuction. Possible hematomas are usually reabsorbed in the first 10 days after surgery.
With the right preparation and adequate techniques, complications are practically nonexistent. The use of bandages or compression garments throughout the first weeks after surgery (girdles, tights, etc…). Avoiding physical activity for the first 2-4 weeks. Avoid lifting weight, and maintain a healthy lifestyle to be able to enjoy permanent results.
