Pregnancies, breastfeeding and weight loss are all the main factors that cause sagging in the breasts or, as many of our patients say, to empty. If you feel the same about your breasts, and you would like to get their original size and shape back, CBC Surgery Institute has the best solution.
Forget about the need to wear a bra everywhere you go, and to spend time and money on creams and pills that don’t ultimately help you reached your desired results. On many occasions, and if the sagging is not severe, it’s possible to leave on an outpatient basis and practically without any visible scarring which would be restricted to around the areola. In more severe cases, sometimes there will be scars along the lower area of the breast, but which are usually not very visible. Once the chest is lifted to its original position, we can also perform a breast augmentation if the patient wishes to do so.

Certain types of breast lift surgeries or other procedures recommended by the surgeon in the evaluation are performed based on the type of breast involved, and according to the patient’s expectations.
Pexia vertical: Stitches are placed around the areola, in a vertical downward line from the areola to the inframammary circle.
Inverted T Breast Lift: When a breast lift is associated with severe ptosis, this is often the most adequate option.
Pexia periareolar: In specific cases, when the breast is small and, more importantly, there is not much ptosis, the incision is only made around the areola.
On some occasions it is necessary to place the implant under the breast tissue or the pectoral muscle in small volume.
The Breast Lift is performed in the surgery room, in a clinic or in the hospital. A 24-hour stay is required, and the patient is able to check out the following day.
Anesthesia: Performed under general anesthesia.
Duration: between 1.5 and 3 hours.
After undergoing a mastopexy or breast lift, it’s completely normal to feel tired throughout the first couple days, but it’s also important to note that the patient can almost return to normal activity in 24-48 hours. The discomfort subsides with the medication prescribed by the doctor, although it’s possible that the sensation of tension can be noted in the breasts. The bandages will be removed in two days, the first layer being substituted by a special surgical tape bandage with which the patient will be able to shower.
It’s also completely normal to notice less sensibility in the nipples throughout the first few days, but it’s generally temporary. The stitches do not need to be removed as they are reabsorbible and automatically dissolve; the inflammation will not subside completely until around 3-6 weeks. After the breast lift, the patient will be able to return to work in a few days. They should then follow instructions given by the doctor on exercises they can perform, although lifting objects above the head should be avoided for 2 to 3 weeks, especially if they are heavy objects.
There will be some sensitivity in the breasts the first 2-3 weeks after the surgery, but all excessive physical activity should be avoided as much as possible for 3 to 4 weeks. The scarring evolution will be as follows: in the beginning the scars will be pink, but the color will get progressively better after 6 weeks. That’s why taking care of the scars by following the instructions we will provide is fundamental. Routine mammograms scheduled for each woman according to her age can be performed in a normal fashion.
